AVERAGE AGE OF VINES
10 years
Fermentation with temperature control (28ºC) in small stainless steel tanks.
Aged for 12 months in American oak barrels, followed by 12 months in bottle prior to market release.
Originating from Vinha das Palmeiras, at Herdade dos Perdigões, where Alicante Bouschet was first planted 10 years ago, this wine is consistently produced.
It is only made in exceptional years and the result of intense experimentation and collaboration between Herdade do Esporão’s winemaking and viticulture teams. This involves the vinification of small blends of the same grape variety from different plots, in which the final goal is to understand and enhance the character of each grape associated with the type of soil and microclimate where it is grown.
The result of these continuous trials is the launch of these unique wines, each variety producing limited quantities.
