Despite the Douro’s unstable weather, the Quinta dos Murças winemaker, José Luís Moreira da Silva, believes that the 2018 vintage of Assobio Branco and Rosé expresses the freshest side of the Douro: “It was an atypical year in the Douro. The unstable climate had significant impact on the decline in production. Ripening occurred later than usual, but good grape acidity enabled these wines to remain true to their profile”.

Assobio Rosé 2018, produced with the varieties Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz and Rufete, is marked by notes of red berries combined with some vegetable aromas, which lend greater freshness.

Assobio White 2018 is an intense wine marked by the aroma of citrus and tropical fruits, produced with the varieties Viosinho, Verdelho, Rabigato, Gouveio and Códega do Larinho.

The Assobio range is part of the Quinta dos Murças wine portfolio made up of Minas, Reserva, Margem, VV47, Porto Tawny 10 anos, Porto Vintage and organic extra virgin olive oil.
