Wine Concept

Respecting the winemaking tradition of the oldest demarcated region in the world, these wines are produced using native grape varieties, created to express the vibrant aromas of the most traditional Douro grapes, showcasing their potential for producing balanced wines that are excellent partners for food.

Agriculture

Integrated Production (certified)

Cold, dry winter followed by a hot and dry spring. Cooler than average temperatures in early summer hastened the ripening of the white grapes, arriving at the vintage in optimum condition, and with good acidity throughout the harvest.

Grape Varieties

Arinto, Verdelho, Gouveio, Viosinho, Rabigato, Códega do Larinho

Vinification / Maturation

Hand picking, sorting table, pneumatic pressing, primary fermentation with temperature control (12ºC to 14ºC), ageing in tank on light lees.

More Information

DOURO – ALTITUDE – FRESHNESS

At the edge of Quinta dos Murças’ boundaries, we find a valley formed by steep slopes. In this place, primarily north-facing and more protected from the sun, when the wind blows, we can hear it whistle.

Assobio comes from vineyards such as these, from plots boasting unique characteristics and planted at higher altitudes. The product of the region’s most traditional grape varieties, our fresh and versatile red, white and rosé Assobios are distinctly gastronomic wines.
