Produced from the premium grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca, this wine expresses the vibrant aromatics and flavours of the traditional Douro varieties and their potential when blended to produce well balanced, structured, gastronomic wines.
Integrated Production (certified)
The low winter rainfall contributed to a smaller than average grape harvest with deeply concentrated high quality wines.
AVERAGE AGE OF VINES
Hand picking and bunch selection, destemming, crushing, fermentation with temperature control (24ºC – 27ºC), membrane pressing.
Around 30% of the blend was aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
DOURO – ALTITUDE – FRESHNESS
At the edge of Quinta dos Murças’ boundaries, we find a valley formed by steep slopes. In this place, primarily north-facing and more protected from the sun, when the wind blows, we can hear it whistle.
Assobio comes from vineyards such as these, from plots boasting unique characteristics and planted at higher altitudes. The product of the region’s most traditional grape varieties, our fresh and versatile red, white and rosé Assobios are distinctly gastronomic wines.
