Wines produced only in exceptional years. Made from singular grape parcels from the estate vineyards that express the unique potential and character of the individual grape variety.
Integrated Production (certificate)
2011 has been recognised as a memorable year for all the winemaking regions in Portugal. Milder than normal temperatures in spring and summer lent our wines intensity, balance and freshness.
Loamy texture, very stony with surface shale.
AVERAGE AGE OF VINES
Temperature controlled fermentation (28ºC) in small stainless steel tanks.
12 months spent in French oak barrels, followed by 18 months in the bottle before release onto the market.
Wine made from Petit Verdot grapes grown on the “Andorinhos” Vineyard. Late season ripener with low yields. Produces wines which surprise for their strong aromatic personality and great potential for bottle ageing.
David Baverstock and Luís Patrão
Complex aroma of the grape, reminiscent of the forest, moss and dry leaves.
Remarkably elegant with lively acidity that lends great freshness. Long and persistent finish.
