Esporão Reserva was the first wine Esporão produced in 1985. A typical Alentejo-style wine that is produced using a careful selection and combination of traditional regional grapes – Arinto, Antão Vaz and Roupeiro – , which are grown at Herdade do Esporão. Crystalline, straw-coloured with green flecks, Esporão Reserva white 2016 boasts rich grapefruit and lemon notes, while the palate is creamy, with good structure and volume, offering excellent balance and plenty of fruit with a long and elegant aftertaste.

The uniqueness of every vintage is enhanced by each artist’s contribution. In this series, Duarte Belo defined the criteria of ‘showing the “land”, its different elements, the landscape, as well as the sky’. The artist’s photographic work has focussed primarily on landscapes and the way the terrain is occupied. Highlights of his work include: Portugal — O Sabor da Terra (1997) and Portugal Património (2007-2008). This work on Portugal has produced a personal photographic archive of over 900,000 photos. His remarkable knowledge of Portugal, and Esporão in particular, has produced four iconic pieces that illustrate the new Esporão Reserva and Private Selection vintages.
