Quinta dos Murças Reserva 2015 is produced from plots of the Estate’s old vineyards, planted in field blends of the Douro’s most traditional grape varieties, at an altitude between 150 and 280 metres. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in granite tanks, using the traditional foot treading method.

The 2015 vintage of Quinta dos Murças Reserva Red marks the arrival of José Luís Moreira da Silva, the Quinta dos Murças head winemaker. He explains that “the cold and dry winter in 2015 was followed by a hot and dry spring, with lower temperatures than usual in the early summer. This accelerated the ripening of our red grapes, which presented good acidity and concentration, resulting in a balanced and elegant wine.”

The quality and consistency of Quinta dos Murças Reserva has been captivating the most demanding international panels. Consecutive high scores from Wine Enthusiast – with 93 points for the 2009 vintage and 94 points for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 vintages – reflect the full potential of Quinta dos Murças wines.
