AVERAGE AGE OF VINES
Selected letter grade A grapes. Destemming, crushing, followed by fermentation in traditional granite lagares with foot treading. Brandy spirit added to arrest the fermentation at the desired level of sweetness. Maturation in used oak barrels in cold cellars prior to blending different aged wines to produce a tawny style with an average age of 10 years.
Port produced with top-quality grapes (category A), harvested from vines with an average age of 20, this wine showcases the Covelinhas region’s potential for producing tawny and vintage ports. Vinic aguardente (brandy) is added to the wine after fermenting in traditional tanks according to the traditional treading method.
The blends age in used barrels for an average of 10 years in the natural coolness of our cellar.
Elegant and intense, very persistent, good balancing acidity.
