Assobio red is produced using the region’s most traditional grape varieties, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca – it is a fresh, elegant wine, with notes of red berries and a long, persistent finish.
The Assobio range is part of the Quinta dos Murças wine portfolio, which is completed by the wines Quinta dos Murças Minas, Reserva, Margem, VV47, Porto Tawny 10yo, Quinta dos Murças Porto Vintage and Quinta dos Murças extra virgin olive oil.
The Assobio range expresses the characteristics of the Quinta dos Murças plot with the same name. According to José Luís Moreira da Silva (winemaker) “north facing and on a higher slope, this is the plot that produces grapes with the greatest acidity on the estate; grapes that are fresher, less concentrated and more aromatic, and this is precisely the profile we strive for in the Assobio range. An expression of the Douro from its highest slopes, with greater freshness.”
