Top of the range Portuguese Demarcated Region Brandy (Aguardente)
Esporão launch MAGISTRA
Esporão is launching a grape-based aguardente brandy XO (Extra Old) from the demarcated region of Lourinhã onto the market that will showcase the company’s ability to produce sophisticated and high-quality distilled drinks in true Portuguese tradition. Lourinhã and the Cognac and Armagnac regions in France are the only three regions in the world with their own denominations to produce this type of drink.

The result of this unique terroir, which benefits from an excellent combination of geological, climactic and human factors, Magistra has been created under the guidance of winemaker David Baverstock, and is the end result of a partnership between José Roquette’s company and Carlos Melo Ribeiro’s Quinta do Rol.

Part of the genuine Lourinhã tradition, and strictly adhering to the denomination of origin quality standards, this mature brandy boasts a combination of aromas and flavours that make it absolutely unique and special. With its amber hue, intense aroma, velvety palate and long and engaging finish, Magistra meets the high standard set by those who have created it and satisfies the refined taste of every brandy connoisseur.
