The Agricultural Department is directed by Amândio Rodrigues. Amândio Rodrigues has a degree in Wine Production from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (1987/91) and has worked for Esporão, S.A. since 1991. In 2001 he took over as Agricultural Director, a position which he still holds.

The main areas of responsibility of the Agricultural Director are:
- To coordinate and ensure the proper cultivation of the vines and olive groves in order for the end products To be of superior quality;
- To manage machinery;
- To directly manage the grape harvest;
- To manage the budget under his responsibility and; to coordinate, plan work, define objectives, ensure training, assess and recognise the working team in order to increase levels of motivation and productivity, as well as to guarantee compliance with objectives in this field and the quality of the service provided both internally and externally.

This department has 133 employees, including 4 Agricultural Managers, 2 Supervisors, 11 Tractor Drivers, 1 Mechanic, 1 Administrative Assistant and 113 Agricultural Workers.

Agricultural Managers in the Agricultural Department:

José Manuel Madeira studied Agriculture (BSc) at the University of Évora (1993-1998). He has worked for Esporão, S.A. since 1998.
Pedro Tereso studied at the School of Agriculture in Castelo Branco (1995-1999). In 2008/09 he completed Postgraduate Studies in Viticulture at the University of Évora. He has worked for Esporão, S.A. since 2001.

Rui Flores studied at the School of Agriculture in Castelo Branco (1995-1999). In 2008/09 he completed Postgraduate Studies in Viticulture at the University of Évora. In 2009 he began studying for a Masters in Sustainable Agriculture at the School of Agriculture in Elvas. He has worked for Esporão, S.A. since 2001.

Ana Filipa Tereso studied at the School of Agriculture (BSc) in Castelo Branco (1996-2002). She has worked for Esporão, S.A. since 2007.
