Alandra
History

They had made a peace agreement and with heavy hearts said goodbye to each other forever. She gave him flowers with no name, and he called them Aloendros, because she was called Alandra. And never more did D. João Peres de Aboim, Mordomo-Mor d´El Rei D. Afonso III and troubador, let these forest flowers out of his sight. He took them to the Defesa do Esporão (the Esporão Tower) because they reminded him of the Moorish princess, for whom he had shied away from cruelty, settled disputes and conquered lands without violence.
She personified the temperance, love and longing of things that endure beyond time.
The boundaries of Herdade do Esporão were established in 1267 by D. João Peres de Aboim, its first owner.
The Aloendros of Esporão inspired this young and smooth wine, like a flower that blooms in memory of an eternal love.
