The heart of Herdade do Esporão is its winery. Built by Finagra in 1987, it is one of the most modern in Europe, thanks to its sophisticated equipment and control mechanisms.

The winery currently has a capacity of 8,000 tonnes and the entire facility is equipped with an automatic cooling system that means that the temperature of each vat can be individually determined. The complex also houses a microbiology laboratory and areas for other chemical analysis. A young technical team, made up of two winemakers led by a technical director, ensure the high quality of all products.

Due to growth in another area, in the summer of 2002, Finagra opened a new winery for white wine, as well as extending its winery for red wines.
