The community is one of the Esporão group’s constant concerns and the company therefore seeks to add value to its business activities by means of environmentally sustainable and socially innovative initiatives. The group is thus involved in activities that are crucial to the quality and dignity of human life, such as environmental appreciation, the preservation of biodiversity, the promotion of public health, the restoration of historical heritage and the improved teaching of environmental studies. This is all the more so since the Esporão group gets the raw materials for its business from nature, it sells food and beverage products, it is part of a socioeconomic community which has several needs, it oversees some important heritage sites and is part of a regional culture of high ethnographic value. As a result of these contexts, a strategy has been drawn up to carefully manage the organisation’s social and environmental impacts on the community.
Moreover, we are convinced that, as a company that drives economic, technological and human development, the Esporão group is only fully realised by respecting the fundamental principles of society and giving back what it receives. Currently our relationship with the community is based on four main areas: Ecology, Alcohol and Health and Social Responsibility.
